Similar to all programs in Tennessee, we have the lottery scholarship money.
We also have Vocational Rehab if students qualify, and we are a program that students can get Pell Grants,
the federal money, and we do also have a scholarship program at Lipscomb.
So, financial aid for students comes from a variety of sources.
In Tennessee there is the Step Up lottery scholarship which most recent high school graduates are eligible for
and that provides support for right now two years’ worth of education in a postsecondary program,
it should expand to four years pretty soon.
Vocational rehabilitation also provides scholarship assistance
through transitional learning services dollars,
ABLE accounts can provide a new source of support for students,
as do the new education accounts that Tennessee has enacted.
And there are limited private scholarships.
We’re also careful to help families look into how they can use social security benefits to help offset some college expenses.
Most students are eligible for increased social security benefits once they graduate from high school
and those increased benefits can be used to help offset some of the costs of college
